Well here is a good one, it appears that team vb.com has stooped to a new low. Brandon Sheley whom runs a site that is built around vbulletin, received a dmca complaint today for sharing Bob Brisco’s public blog “vision for vbulletin” on his site. I am having trouble believing how unprofessional this entire thing is getting. Sending out a DMCA complaint because someone posted what you said word for word, is bullcrap. Brandon has done allot to help with the growth of the vbulletin community, and is now threatened by the company he faithfully seemed to believe in. Is it really legal to even file a DMCA complaint for coping and pasting something that is public on the internet?

I for one am glad you were able to grab this information and share it with others. I too am banned from vbulletin.com forever, for using this information to prove my point with vbulletin moderators, but steve machol took it personal, became butt sore and banned me for ever.

Brent I hate that vB banned you for life. I think it is stupid. I have always said the staff there wasn't very nice. This just goes to show that they not only aren't nice but not very professional. The expect people to just pour out money to them, and not really get nothing in return.

Kellie while no product or company is perfect I have found the staff and support over at IPB's site to be far more superior than vB/Jelsoft/IB whatever they are nowadays. I have used all board software that I know of and I keep going back to IPB cause to me they are the best. What one person likes isn't always for others, but just going by support and how I am treated by the staff IPB wins out everytime. Hope that helps in your decision.

C'mon dude, you should know that admin are just nazi assholes on a power trip. You wouldn't believe the amount of online game servers I get banned from for exercising free speech.

You muppet, youve made it plainly obvious they did not ban you for that reason, more that you're just a fool.

Good thing you posted it here. Bad move for vB. It's their fault you could get into the admin area, why are they blaming you?

I am glad you found the information and had enough forthought to download it and share it with others. I too am on my way to being banned from vbulletin.com by steve machol. He has really gone out of his way to keep this quiet and they state that the few of us that are not happy with this are complainers and we do not represent the majority. I asked for a full press release and bamm, i am in trouble.

Wow, that is pretty astonishing, especially the way in which he acknowledges that the decision to charge for vB4 will screw customers who, like me, recently paid a $40 renewal fee (recently increased from $30) with the understanding that it would give them access to all new versions of vB for a year.

How shocking, too, that he is manipulative enough to recognize that their forum needs to be nailed down long before 4.0 is released, so that we won't realize there is a correlation!

If you have the time, you should actually type it all out and repost it in that form - a lot of people who might be interested simply won't bother reading from images. Also, a lot of influential bloggers won't link to something that will force their readers to jump through hoops. Also, you'll get a lot more bloggers quoting the post and linking to it if they can cut n' paste a few of the juicy bits into their own posts about this revelation.

You should make it easier for word of this to spread because it is really important that people realize that vBulletin plan to shaft them.
